Bandette is about a young burglar who enjoys taking risks and having fun all the while. The plot is fine, but it is the atmosphere that is created a joie de vivre which makes this title shine.
I also liked the explanation (at the back of the book) of how the artwork was done. I didn’t realize how much work was involved, the multiple transformation a graphic novel goes through. The next title will go into more detail about how color is applied, maybe I’ll figure out why so many graphic novels are saturated with sepia tones. I also liked the shorts by other authors and artists at the end of the book.
