Monday's Not Coming
Claudia’s best friend, Monday, is missing. She hasn’t shown up at school and Claudia hasn’t heard from her since she returned from being away over the summer. No one will listen to Claudia, who insists something is wrong. Is Claudia over reacting or is Monday not the person Claudia thought she was.
I was really liking this book, it was intriguing, had a wonderful plot line going and then it took an unexpected turn and it lost me. To me, the twist was unnecessary. After it, the timeline became confusing and I wasn’t sure about what was happening when. I understand that the chapter titles are there to help you but honestly that just made it more confusing. I really feel that if the author had just stuck with the storyline of a Monday missing, it would have been enough and a much better book and would have still made a point about the negligence in our society when it comes to looking for missing black kids.
