The Missouri River Regional Library (MRRL) Foundation exists to raise and provide funds to enhance the collections, programs, services, equipment, and capital projects for the benefit of the Missouri River Regional Library serving Cole and Osage counties. The Library is tax supported and the MRRL Foundation supplements this public funding to assist the Library system in meeting their annual goals and their mission. The Foundation Board of Directors may consist of seven and up to twenty directors who reside in Cole or Osage Counties. There is a brief application process. In 2024, the Foundation funded the purchase of two single study pods and a microfilm reader for the Main Library. They also contributed $10,000 to the Osage County Library's concrete parking lot project and $5,000 to the MRRL Storytelling Festival.
The MRRL Foundation hosts one of the most popular fundraisers in the community---Mini-Golf in the Library at both the Main and Osage County Branches. The Osage County Branch is converted into a 9 hole golf course you can try twice while the Main Library is a full 18 hole course covering two floors!
