Novel Ideas is our 6th-8th grade book group. A free copy of the book is provided for the first 8 participants. Light refreshments are served at every meeting.
This month we will be discussing The Labors of Hercules Beal by Gary D. Schmidt.
Hercules Beal - Herc - is named after the hero, but he doesn't live up to the name. He's at a new middle school, and he's the smallest in his class. When his homeroom teacher assigns him the task of duplicating the 12 labors of Hercules in real life, he's not sure he can. As he starts to take on the task, he finds friends who are ready to help him on his path.
