Novel Ideas is our 6th-8th grade book group. A free copy of the book is provided for the first 8 participants. Light refreshments are served at every meeting.
We will be discussing The Otherwoods by Justine Pucella Winans.
River Rydella has the ability to see monsters, as well as enter The Otherwoods, a spirit world. Those around them believe River could be a hero, a chosen one. For River, though, the gift makes them feel unlucky, and they are doing their best to keep their head down to avoid it. That is, until River's friend, and crush, Avery gets stolen by monsters. Now River has to confront the horrors of The Otherwoods with their cat and a teen spirit guide to save Avery.
