Novel Ideas is our 6th-8th grade book group. A free copy of the book is provided for the first 8 participants. Light refreshments are served at every meeting.

This month we will be discussing The Carrefour Curse by Dianne K. Salerni. 

Garnet is from a magical family, but her mother has done her best to keep Garnet from knowing them. Garnet wishes she could meet them, and she's excited when she's suddenly summoned to their family's dark mansion, Crossroad House. Only when she arrives, it's not quite what she hoped for. The mansion is falling apart, certain hallways are forbidden and her relatives are strange. Then Garnet uncovers the family's secret: Jasper Carrefour, head of the family, is stealing power from the family to keep himself alive. Garnet is thrown in the middle of a fight for inheritance if Jasper dies, and it seems even more secrets are hiding in Crossroad House. Was Garnet summoned to the estate because of the Carrefour curse or to break it?
