  • Josie and the Pussycats Vol. 2

I didn't like this one as well as the first volume. I guess I'm not as in to the group being crime busters instead of singers. There was more info on the pasts of Valerie and Melody and the relationship between Alex and Alexandra. Who knows what comes next.

  • The Reckoning

This book was not what I was expecting. I knew there was a murder and a mystery about why, but this family's issues went far farther than I expected. I was very uncomfortable with the detail of Pete's time in the Philippines as a P.O.W. and as a guerrilla fighter. I was not familiar with this part of WWII, but I am well versed in military trials. While I know this information was important to the main plot, I think there was too much time spent on this part. I never saw the true reason as it turned out, but it did make sense. Grisham did a good job of describing Mississip in the 1940's.

  • Before We Were Strangers

This was an interesting story. I liked the complex relationships. It was hard to keep track of what was true, believed-to-be true, and an outright lie. I can't imagine that kind of relationship with your father, but all families are different. This had enough twists and turns to keep your interest even though some issues were obvious and too simply resolved.

  • Bleachers

I chose this audio-book because the plot seemed very similar to hometown story of Coach Pete Adkins and his Jefferson City Jays football team. I lived through much of this man's famous winning streak, was in high school when part of it ended. My husband played for Coach Pete. Many of the stories I heard during this tribute and I'm sure much of this will be similar to the tributes our players will give in the end. Right or wrong, football coaches play a very important part of the lives of young men - some good, some bad, but a fact of life.

  • Dying to Have Her

This was another good take on life on a soap opera. Lots of tongue in cheek and characters who are all looking for a step up to brighter stardom. Of course, the romance adds to the story and will continue with "daughter" three in the next book.

The bestselling author of Long, Lean and Lethal is back with more sizzling romantic suspense set in the high-gloss world of TV soap operas-where anything can be had for a price. Success. Fame. Money. Even murder....

  • The Book Jumper

This book was not quite what I expected but I liked it anyway. With my love of books, it would be amazing to have the ability to enter any story at any point and see and experience the story first hand. This story shows how important the smallest things and the basic story ideas are important to the finished product. It would be dangerous to think that one small change would make every copy of the story, no matter where or when, become different or maybe not exist at all. This would be a huge job and maybe not as glorious as it seems at the beginning.

  • The Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy (Montague Siblings #2)

This was a fun sequel and I really wish there would be more. I loved how Felicity was fearless and resourceful. I would love to know what happens to Felicity and her two best friends. Females of much more substance than normal and full of force, humor and understanding. Making a life of their own, these three chart a path most men couldn't follow.

  • Little White Lies (Debutantes #1)

I liked this teen novel about becoming a Southern belle debutante. I have to admit that when I was of a certain age, the idea of being a debutante would have been a dream come true. Now however, I have to admit that it would not be a very fun situation. On the other hand, these four girls are no wilting blossoms and can stir up trouble with the best of them. Sawyer is looking for her father, but finds a hornets nest. When she does find the truth, she doesn't know what to do with it. Can't wait to see what happens next!

  • Long, Lean, and Lethal (Soap #1)

This was an intriguing murder mystery that centers around a soap opera. Since I have been known to enjoy one now and again, it was a familiar setting. Of course, it ends successfully and with a new romance or two.

On the glittering set of a popular daytime drama, fantasy and reality are fatally intertwined in a brand-new, red-hot trilogy that continues Graham's successful series of contemporary blockbusters. From the author of "Drop Dead Gorgeous". Author signings.

  • Check, Please!: #Hockey, Vol. 1

I enjoyed this fun graphic novel. I like hockey and love baking. The idea of college boy who is an athlete and likes to cook, reminds me way to much of my youngest son. However, the crush on his captain is handled nicely and it is fun to meet the varied cast of players. I look forward to the next issue.

  • Marilyn's Monsters

This was a very strange take on the journey of Norma Jean Baker to Marilyn Monroe. While I'm sure some of these "monsters" were very real. Not sure, but maybe that was how Norma Jean saw her life before it spun out of her control.

The famous Hollywood Hills. A strange spooky forest filled with freaks and old trailers. This is where movie stars are born in this alternate world. Determined to become one, shy Norma Jean Baker (Marilyn Monroe) comes to this ghost-town with hopes and dreams. She'll have to face all kinds of monsters to reach her ultimate goal.

  • Batman: Prelude to the Wedding

Since I am a huge Batman fan especially when it involves Catwoman, this graphic was a must read. I was slightly disappointed that there wasn't more of the couple, but the collection of stories about the others who would be a part of this wedding were quite intriguing. It was a bit disconcerting to have Robin, Nightwing, and Red Hood in the same set of stories, but understandable too, since they each have a giant place in Batman's life/wedding. I'm going to be on the lookout for the wedding volume.

  • Bad Girls

While the graphics and color was wonderful, this story was not what I expected. It was much more violent and hard to follow. Not much background on each of the three women, so I found it hard to keep them separated.

  • The Hidden Witch

This was as intriguing as the first book. I like how the characters are accepting of their differences and find their friendship realistic. They support each other and encourage one another to go after their dreams, be they normal or not. I look forward to following Aster and Charlie as they become better friends.
