Novel Ideas is our 6th-8th grade book group. A free copy of the book is provided for the first 8 participants. Light refreshments are served at every meeting.
This month we will be discussing Iceberg by Jennifer Nielsen.
Hazel wants nothing more than to be a reporter. After her father's untimely death, Hazel's mother is sending her to New York aboard the Titanic. Her mother wants her to do factory work so she can send money home. However, Hazel is determined to instead report about the Titanic to earn the money. Only Hazel doesn't have enough money for a ticket. She is stowing away on the ship, and with the help of some friends, exploring its opulence as well as a mystery.
