Mia is on a mission to save her sister. To do that she has to bring back valuable tech from Gaia, a new world that has opened up because of a message from an alien race. Mia runs into Jules on Gaia and they decide to team up after he promises her tech no one knows about. Jules is the son of the man that decoded the message from the Undying and the man who ruined his career trying to convince people the message was dangerous. Jules and Mia are off to a temple no one really knows about but they are not alone. They come under the power of a group of mercenaries who also want the tech. Together they have to decode the clues leading through the temple and try to stay alive.

I enjoyed this book but didn't love it. I am intrigued by the cliff-hanger ending and eager to see where book 2 goes even though I did figure out the twist way before Mia and Jules did. The end of the book was very seat of your pants exciting, but the beginning could definitely have used some editing. I am not sure if it was because there were two authors or what but there was a lot of unnecessary repetition that really brought the story down. I was also a bit put off by the romance and didn't find it really that believable. There were a bit too many moon-eyed scenes for my liking especially since they were basically trying to survive the entire story. That being said I will definitely be reading the next book.
