The Lumberjanes are out to get their orienteering badge in this forest adventure. Of course things go off course when they discover a mysterious compass that makes them disappear one by one. And of course there are robot butlers.

I love the Lumberjanes series, but was not a fan of this issue. I am not really sure of its purpose for one. It assumes you have read the other Lumberjanes books and are familiar with the setting and the characters. There is really no set up for either of those. The adventure is fairly standard fare for a Lumberjanes issue just really drawn out. The worst part of this one was the writing though. One of the great things about Lumberjanes is the subtle but silly stories. There is no in-your-face/after school special stuff. This issue felt so obviously like a "message" story. Everything was overly explained and the writing was just horrible. I could barely get through the story. I dislike it the more I think about it!
