Get to Know Your Chickens' Biology and Their Role in Ecology of the Backyard

Dr. James Wetzel helped initiate the poultry program at Lincoln University which is focused on the needs of limited resource producers. This program will be geared to less-intensive producers likely to employ free-range foraging to supplement feed use and promote waste dispersion, possibly with some sort of permaculture aspect. He will focus on the chicken's life cycle and behavior to provide insight into how they impact the use of forages as well as approaches to housing and depredation management.
