Living in Missouri is a challenge for those with allergies, both indoor and outdoor. Come an learn practical tips to avoid aeroallergen exposures and reduce allergy symptoms. Hwei-Ying Johnson, an epidemiologist with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, will explain how pollen and mold allergens are monitored in the state. She will present the department's analysis of how weather affects aeroallergen levels, an analysis based on 22 years of pollen, mold and weather data and their impacts on public health. Johnson works in the Bureau of Environmental Epidemiology, Division of Community and Public Health. The Missouri Environmental Public Health Tracking Program (EPHT) is a program within the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. EPHT is part of a national initiative to help inform prevention and control of environmentally-related illness and disease.
