We have thoroughly enjoyed getting out in the community to share information about Proposition Library! At each meeting, there have been similar questions asked and we thought you might have the same questions, so we wanted to share the answers. As more questions pop up, we'll be adding to this list.
How long will the library be closed and where will you go?
On June 29th, members of the community had the opportunity to learn more about the library's expansion plans. Director Claudia Young and Assistant Director Natalie Newville shared about library resources and the upcoming Proposition Library ballot initiative. Dan Maginn, Harison Pitchford, and Jack LaFontaine from Dake Wells Architecture shared about the building design and the process that went into the plan.

We have exciting news at Missouri River Regional Library! On Tuesday, April 18th our Board of Trustees voted to place Proposition Library on the August 8th ballot in Cole County.
Missouri River Regional Library will honor Claudia Visnich as the 2022 Library Volunteer of the Year at the annual MRRL Friends meeting on January 28th at 10am at Missouri River Regional Library. Visnich has served as the MRRL Friends President the last two years and was an active member prior to that.
The Missouri River Regional Library Summer Reading Program is back from June 1-August 7, 2021! Join us at the library for a variety of programs all summer long, plus earn prizes when you read. Printed reading logs will be available at the library, but participants are encouraged to use READsquared online to track their reading.

As part of National Library Week, Missouri River Regional Library will honor Erin Hart from KAT Country as the 2021 Library Ambassador of the Year. Hart is an avid library user, and consistently shares about the work the library is doing, both in the community and on social media.
Missouri River Regional Library will join with libraries across the nation in celebrating National Library Week April 5-10, 2021. This is the 63rd year that libraries have celebrated NLW.
“National Library Week is a chance for us to highlight our impact on the community,” says Claudia Cook, Director. “It is also a great time to celebrate our patrons, and welcome back members of the community who haven’t visited us recently.”
