National Library Week @ both MRRL branches

We're celebrating National Library Week, April 7-13, 2024. And YOU'RE invited to join us in Jefferson City or Linn! 

At both our Cole and Osage county branches, the week features:

• Food for fines - Every non-perishable food item = $1 for overdue fines
  All food collected in Cole County will be donated to the Samaritan Center, plus on FRIDAY, there is a pet photo promotion (see below)
  All food collected in Osage County will be donated to the Good Shepherd Pantry 
• Free replacement cards - Normally $1

Special National Library Week Events at the Cole County branch in Jefferson City:

• MONDAY: Gummy Worm Guessing (all week) Guess the number and win the worms!
• TUESDAY: National Library Worker Day There will be Library Love note stations for patrons to share their love of the library with staff.
• WEDNESDAY: National (Bookmobile) Outreach Day Participate in a bookmobile bookmark contest from 10 a.m. -noon, with storytime from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Winners will have their photo taken in the driver's seat of the bookmobile and also with Bookmobile Driver Jon!
• THURSDAY: Storytelling Day  Patrons are invited to share what they are reading at any desk with a MRRL staff member to win a prize (books for teens and adults, small stuffed animals for kids)
• FRIDAY: Library Ambassador of the Year and Volunteer of the Year Ceremony Join us on the main floor of the library as Director Claudia Young recognizes Felicia Poettgen as this year's Ambassador and Peggy Fechtel as this year's Volunteer. 
  Pet Photo Fine Waving Also both branches will waive up to $5 off your fines all day if you show us a photo of your pet or pets  - or the pet you wish you had! (Food for Fines are still accepted through Sunday.)
• SATURDAY: Patron Appreciation Day in the Library Park  MRRL celebrates our patrons in a BIG way from 11-1 with a free hotdog lunch, big games, and musical accompaniment by Those Guys.

Special National Library Week Events at the Osage County branch in Linn:

• MONDAY: Popcorn for Patrons at the circulation desk from noon - 5:30 p.m.
• TUESDAY: National Library Worker Day There will be Library Love note stations for patrons to share their love of the library with staff.
• WEDNESDAY: National (Bookmobile) Outreach Day Tour the library bookmobile from 1-3 p.m. with a storytime from 1-2 p.m. Be sure to give Bookmobile Driver Jon a high five for all of his hard work!
• FRIDAY: Pet Photo Fine Waving Also both branches will waive up to $5 off your fines all day if you show us a photo of your pet or pets  - or the pet you wish you had! (Food for Fines are still accepted through Sunday.)
