LU-MRRL Lecture Series: "I'm Your Person": Television Narrates Female Friendships in the Workplace

Dr. Kathleen M. Turner Ledgerwood, assistant professor of English, will analyze the historical movements of television portrayals of women in the workplace. She will consider shows that portray the only woman in a male-dominated workplace, like The Mary Tyler Moore Show; to women working as partners in the workplace, like Laverne and Shirley and Cagney and Lacey; to important depictions of healthy female friendships in the workplace, like Grey's Anatomy and Parks and Recreation.
