Joey Crider is a graduate of Jefferson City High School and lives with his family in Holts Summit, Mo, where he pursues his art on a part-time basis. He is a self-taught artist with no formal degree.
Joey's artwork has won numerous awards at local exhibits and he produces prints of most of his original pieces.
He is an avid hunter and fisherman as is reflected in the subject matter of many of his pieces.
My goal is to share my talents with as many people as possible. My artwork is in a different media than most people are used to. Each individual piece takes numerous hours to complete. Because of all the hours it takes to complete each one, I print all of my new pieces. I plan to print all future pieces as well. By doing this, it allows more
people to enjoy art through my eyes.
I try to portray my subjects in their natural state and as lifelike as possible. I have pursued art most of my life and I enjoy advancing my talent with each new piece. I enjoy seeing the reactions of people when they see a new picture that I have completed. I try
to study wildlife in its natural settings. When I hunt or fish or look through magazines or books, I find myself learning something new as each picture develops.
Friends and family are my inspiration when I create my pictures. It is a feeling of success to see them enjoy my artwork.
