Frequently Asked Questions
I'm not 12 yet, can I still participate in the Teen Summer Reading Challenge?
Our “official” ages are 12-18, but if you’re 11 and feeling like the kid’s challenge is too easy, you can do the teen challenge instead!
I just graduated from high school, can I still participate in the Teen Summer Reading Challenge?
If you’ve just graduated from high school, you can still do the Teen Challenge. If you graduated last year, we recommend taking part in the Adult Summer Reading Challenge (they’ve got cool prizes too!).
Do all of my books need to be Teen/Young Adult books?
Nope! You can read books written for any age group.
Do all of my books need to be checked out from the library?
No, you can read your own books, books from a different library, or wherever else you happen to find books.
What reading materials count for Summer Reading?
You can read in whatever medium you like: paper books, e-books, audiobooks, graphic novels, and comics can all count toward your reading time.
Where can I pick up prizes?
Prizes are available in the Teen Zone or at our Osage County branch in Linn.
When will you be drawing for the grand prizes?
We plan to draw for grand prizes Monday, August 6. You have until Monday, August 13 to pick them up from the Teen Zone.
