DESCRIPTION:A literacy based program that pairs struggling readers from ki
 ndergarten through second grade with teen volunteers. They meet once a wee
 k to read together and do group activities. \r\nReading Buddies is design
 ed to give children extra reading practice one-on-one with a teen mentor a
 nd make the reading experience fun. The teen volunteers develop responsibi
 lity, leadership and communication skills while they serve their community
  and make a difference in children’s lives. We will be celebrating readi
 ng by doing creative projects and programs, as well as providing some snac
 ks and giving away prizes!\r\nThe program runs June 1 through July 28. Pa
 rticipants can choose to attend in June or July or both. We will have sess
 ions on Monday afternoons and Tuesday evenings.\r\nRegistration is require
 d. Applications are due May 11, 2020.
