Program Description

Description

In this presentation attendees will learn how to develop new skills, achieve difficult goals, and surpass the achievements of their peers who may have more resources or natural talent than they do.

Despite being told (accurately, though painfully) by his high school coach that he had no natural ability as an athlete, speaker Dr. Gary Homann, a professor of psychology at Lincoln University, has gone on to break numerous records—including two world records in the grueling sport of rowing. Dr. Homann’s lifelong hobby is setting and achieving personal goals.

In this talk, he will share with you the scientifically sound principles he uses to achieve these goals and give numerous examples of how he applied the principles to develop some wacky and maybe a few impressive skills. His current project in progress is teaching himself and his two daughters to shoot par in golf.

Come hear Dr. Homann’s talk if you want to learn how to stop being just good enough to get by and start accomplishing difficult goals.
