Overdrive

Overdrive, MRRL and Harper Collins

Some of you may have noticed that the library has not been purchasing new titles from the publisher Harper Collins in Overdrive. We have stopped buying new titles from this publisher because they changed their policies and have started "destroying" ebooks after 26 checkouts. This means that we would pay for the ebook, check it out to you 26 times and then lose the book from our collection. Besides the extra work involved with adding and removing books from our catalog, this is unfair to us and a poor use of the money we receive from your taxes.

Public Domain books available through Overdrive!

Overdrive has just added 15,000 titles - all books that are free of copyright restrictions and many that are considered classics - to the library's ebook collection

Overdrive Media is here!

Missouri River Regional Library is proud to announce that it is a founding member of the MoLib2go Consortium. Organized through the offices of MLNC (the Missouri Library Network Corporation) 10 Missouri libraries have joined forces to provide downloadable audio books and eBooks to our patrons through the content provider of Overdrive.  We decided to end our subscription with NetLibrary, which expires at the end of October, and go with Overdrive because Overdrive offers many more titles and services than NetLibrary, and is easier to use.
