Capture the Flag by Kate Messner , 240 pages, read by Angie, on 07/31/2013

The original American Flag has been stolen. Anna, Jose and Henry were all at the gala where the flag was displayed and where it was later stolen. They are also all stuck in the airport waiting on a flight to Vermont. They weather has everyone snowed in. Turns out the kids have something else in common…they are all descendants of famous artists and their parents are part of a secret society that protects works of art around the world. The kids become convinced the flag is stuck in the airport with them and they are determined to find it. Their search leads them into the bowels of the airport, to new friends and to the real thieves. This is a fast-paced, fun mystery. The kids are believable and entertaining. I did think there was a bit of stereotyping with Jose being obsessed with Harry Potter and Henry sticking his face in a video game all the time, but they did put their obsessions away to work on the mystery (eventually). I enjoyed this book and think kids will as well.
