JEFFERSON CITY – Want to get in shape? Have more energy? Hoping for a better outlook on life? Yoga could be the answer and the Missouri River Regional Library can help. A free yoga class is offered at 9 a.m. every Thursday in the Missouri River Regional Library Art Gallery.
Two local Yoga Instructors – Alberta Mobley and Olivia Foss – lead the class. Students at all levels – beginners to advanced – are welcome.
Yoga has been practiced for more than 5,000 years, and it’s estimated that currently 11 million Americans do yoga regularly.
Studies have shown that yoga has a variety of health benefits, including:
• Improves flexibility.
• Participants feel less stressed, more relaxed.
• Improves concentration and mood.
• Benefits the heart.
Bring a yoga mat or towel if you have one, but they are not required. Drop-ins are welcome. For more information about the library yoga class, contact Kira at 634-6064, ext. 238.
