Mission Statement

The mission of the Friends of the Osage County Library is to promote the use and enjoyment of library services, as well as strengthen and attract support for the library.

Announcements

The Friends of the Osage County Library invite all members and the public to their annual meeting on Thursday, April 27^th at 6 p.m. at the Osage County Library in Linn. The short informational meeting will cover the annual book sale to be held in October, ideas for future activities and goals of the organization. Annual Meeting Report

Friends of the Osage County Library (FOCL) hosted their Annual Meeting April 19, 2007 at 7 PM. A review of the years' activities was presented which included recognition of the Osage County Library staff on National Library worker Day with a balloon bouquet and Barnes and Noble gift certificates, providing National Library Week gift baskets (one adult and one childs) for patron prize drawings, the advent of mailing the MRRL Newsletter to FOCL membership, an advertisement affiliation with the Osage County Historical Society (OCHS) Newsletter, authorization of funds for the Storytelling Festival, Symmetry Program and Vanasaurus Program, allocating funds to purchase Teen Shelf Units, Indoor/Outdoor Mats and a Projection Screen, establishment of a new, spacious, better organized Book Sale Storage Site, a successful Annual Book Sale, receiving a $1000.00 Grant from the St. James Distribution Center for Wal Mart and the permanent display of a FOCL Gift Recognition Plaque at the Library.

A 2007 Calendar of Events was proposed as follows: July 12-14 Informational Booth at the Osage County Fair, September 15 participate in the Chamois Day Parade, September 29-30 Annual Book Sale and participate in the Linn Lions Club Christmas Parade in December.

Other New Business included the Library Bookcase "Signature" Quilt Dedication and Recognition of Volunteers as well as the Election of Officers. Each office is a two year term. President Barbara Baker, Vice President Bev Myers, Secretary Patricia Koenigsfeld, Treasurer Kathy Wolfe, Member at Large Ron Strang and Member at Large Valora Budnik.

Membership is open to any individual or family who wishes to support the programs and services of the Osage County Library. Simply complete the application form and drop it off at the library or mail it to: FOCL, PO Box 349 Linn MO 65051.

Annual Book Sale

The annual Friends of the Osage County Library Book Sale will be held September 29th from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and September 20th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m . at the Osage County Community Center County Community Center located on Hwy 50 east of Linn. Donated items including books, videos, and other multimedia will be sold with proceeds going to the Friends of the Osage County Library to enable them to assist the library with improvements.
