Is there a fine if I’m late returning my items?
The library does charge 20 cents per day per item when they are overdue. We do offer a 3 day grace period however, the fine is retroactive so on the 4th day you will owe 80 cents.

Can I renew my items if I’m not done with them?
Yes! You can renew twice as long as no one has a hold on the item. Walk In Bestseller books can not be renewed. Items will renew from the day you renew them, not the day they were originally due.

How do I renew my items?
There are three ways to renew: In Person At The Library, just bring in your library card and we can renew items on your card. Over The Phone, call the library at 634-2464 with your library card number, and we will renew items over the phone for you. Online, go to the Catalog, click on my record. Type in your last name, and your library card number (entire number on your card with no space). Helpful Hint: please go back into your record once you’ve renewed to see your new due date, this way you can verify that everything renewed.

Can I place holds on items that are currently checked out?
Yes! You can place a hold by calling the library and asking for the Reference desk. You can place a hold yourself on the public catalog computers or from home on our web site. To place a hold online you will need your library card number. Each patron can have up to 20 items on hold at a time. When a hold is available for pick up, if the library has your email address, you will be sent an email. If we do not have your email address you will either need to check your account online to see when your hold is available or call us to check. Once an item is on the hold shelf for you it will be held for 8 days.

What Is MOBIUS?
MOBIUS is a group of Missouri libraries that allow each other access to each other’s collections of books. You can’t MOBIUS other material types, only books. You can ask a librarian to place a MOBIUS request for you or you can do it yourself online. When you are searching the catalog there is a button that says Search MOBIUS if you click this you will be able to search all the MOBIUS libraries for the items you want. These books check out for 3 weeks like our books, and will also renew as long as there are no holds, just like our books.

What is Inter Library Loan?
Inter Library Loan or ILL is a service in which the library can try to locate items we don’t own or are unable to get through MOBIUS. You can ILL any material type, and we will search libraries in Missouri as well as other states to try to obtain this for you. You cannot do this request yourself, you must ask a library employee to put the request in for you. The length of check out on these items is set by the LENDING library, and all renewal requests must be made 1 week in advance to give us time to request the renewal from the library that owns it. You can request an ILL in person, over the phone, or through our website. ILL Request Form
