Rick Rayburn Concert at Linn
Submitted by Children on Mon, 08/08/2011 - 11:44Rick Rayburn will be performing a concert at our Osage County Library in Linn on Thursday, August 11th at 10:30 a.m. The event is open to the public and suitable for all ages.
Come listen to Rick, a childen's singer/songwriter, who will be performing some of his original songs created just for the summer reading club.

Jay and Leslie's Laughing Matters will be coming to the MRRL on Wednesday, July 20th at 10:30 a.m. in the Art Gallery.
Jay and Leslie's waky humor, circus skills and theatrical flair will entertain the whole family.
So join us for an hour of juggling, mime, magic and other nonsense...you won't want to miss it!

Kid's Art of North and Central America!

The event is open to the first 30 participants the night of the event so come early!

Storytime with the Bookmobile Driver

Other programs this week include: Reading to Rover, Martial Arts for Kids, and Handmade Tales.

Summer Reading

Stop by the Children's Department today for your Summer Reading Passport to enroll in the MRRL Summer Reading Program. Summer Reading runs June 1st through July 31st.

Teen Volunteer Needed

Then the Reading Buddies Program at Missouri River Regional Library is perfect for you!
The Reading Buddies Program pairs teen volunteers with struggling kindergarten through second grade students. As a volunteer you would read with the student, play games, do crafts and generally have fun all summer long.

Heather Brewer to visit Jefferson City
Submitted by Children on Mon, 04/25/2011 - 17:36New York Times best-selling author Heather Brewer will be in Jefferson City on Thursday, May 5th at Simonsen Auditorium at 7 p.m. She will talk about her books, answer questions and sign books.
Heather Brewer is the author of The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod. The first book in the series, Eighth Grade Bites, won the Missouri Truman Award in 2010.

Getting Ready for Kindergarten

Pat Biggerstaff, a retired Reading Recovery and Reading Specialist, will lead a workshop for parents on getting their children ready to read and start kindergarten on Tuesday, April 5th at 6:30 p.m. in the MRRL Art Gallery.

Ann Ingalls, author, to visit
