 It's Gnome Week in Children's! This week is all about our little friends the Gnomes. Join us Monday for our Gnome Family Event where we will have a gnome scavenger hunt, gnome bowling and other silly gnome fun. Wednesday will be Gnome Family Fun with stories, music and activities. We will end the week with our Family Movie Night showing of Gnomeo and Juliet. So don't miss the Gnome Fun at the library!

Wednesday, April 24th at 6:30 pm, we will be having Family Book Bingo.
Every winner receives a free book!

The Children's Department can help you out! We have created lots and lots of booklists for you to use. We have lists on different topics, lists for your grade level and read alikes for popular books.

Then join us for Gym-Zzouri!

Children up to age 12 are welcome to join Gym-Zzouri for an hour of gymnastics! No reservations are required.

This event takes the place of Family Story Time on Wednesday, March 6 at 10:30 am. 

 The American Library Association has announced the 2013 Youth Awards. These awards include the Caldecott Medal and the Newberry Medal.  For a full list of all the winners please see the ALA website. 

2013 Caldecott Medal Winner:

 Have you ever wanted to make your own robot? Well now you can! Join us on Monday, February 4th at 6:30 pm for our Be Creative Craft. We will be making Can-Do Robots. We will use tin cans and hardware to make unique robots that you can take home with you. Let your imagination fly and come create your own robot!

 We have some exciting programs in Children's this week. On Monday, January 7th at 6:30 pm you can enjoy a Tropical Island Craft Adventure during our Be Creative Craft. Forget the cold! Heat up the winter with a collection of tropical animal crafts to make and take. Then on Saturday, January 12th at 11 am you can come to the library for Book Bingo Bonanza! It is an hour of family bingo fun and winners earn book prizes. That's right every time you get a bingo you get a free book! So come spend some time with us at the library this week. You will definitely have fun!
